Virginia has the highest percentage of technology workers in the country and ranked 5th in total high technology employment as reported in Cyberstates 2008. The American Electronics Association's definition of technology includes both manufacturing and services industries, but clearly the services side dominates high technology employment in Virginia, with over half of high technology employment accounted for by Computer Systems Design & Related Services.
